Shot a photo roughly every two miles between take-off in San Francisco and landing in Paris CDG to make this airplane time lapse. Made with a 5d2, a time-lapse controller, and a 16mm – 35mm, mixed with some iPhone shots. The music is a modified demo track “Gain” by DETUNE ltd. denkitribe on the Korg iMS20 iPad App. I’m pretty sure the track is copyrighted but it’s My First Synthesizer score so I’m hoping denkitribe is cool with it. Edits and pans in After Effects CS5 and iMovie.
The photos during take-off and landing are all computer models and totally rendered because I would never use an electronic device during times which the FAA prohibits them. I did get lucky and have a whole row to myself to setup the tripod and gear.
Thanks to my neighbors for not minding an SLR click every 2 to 30 seconds for 11 hours, and thanks to Stephanie and the whole Air France flight crew for being insanely friendly and allowing me to shoot. Thanks to @ztaylor for showing me the Korg iMS20 iPad App. Thanks to @jayzombie and the #nerdbird on the way to SXSW this year for helping me come up with the idea. Thanks to @somnambulant for the idea of live scoring. Thanks to you for actually reading this far. You are a champion.
2,204 Photos shot over 24 hours on a balcony in Austin. Song is She’s Got You by Patsy Cline. Edited in After Effects CS5.

1,572 photos shot over seven hours on an island 68 miles South of Everglades City in Florida with a 5D mk2 and a cheap knock-off time lapse controller that works great. The beach is called Middle Cape Sable, and is the southernmost point of the continental US. Camped there with six of my awesome family members. The music, suggested by cousin Kristen, is Clelia Iruzun: Ernesto Lecuona- Always in my Heart.

Thanks to Paul Octavious for remote art direction. The lego Falling Water belongs to Laura G and Men’s Wearhouse. Intro Music is La Traviata Libiamo, purchased royalty-free from Stock Music, and Rick only lasts nine seconds, which should fall within fair use. Ask Girl Talk about that.

Ladder and dress provided by the incredibly well-stocked magical equipment truck of Ryan Schude and Dan Busta. Music is “Soda” by the Cinematic Orchestra
This was done as the excercise in shooting whimsical at the lovely Phoot Camp.
The sky above our phoot camp. Lightroom to process photos, After Effects to assemble timelapse and do the pan and zoom, and iMovie to edit and add Bob Ross.
I find the macbook instruction guy very soothing, and I also find these people swimming very soothing. Combine the two and.. ummm. i don’t know.
